An author without a blog…

I’ve been told that I need a blog.

I’ll be honest, I’m finding parts of being an author more difficult than I expected.  Writing and publishing my first book was the easier part to marketing and maintaining contact with my readers.  A Standard Arises was released into the wild at the end of March, 2023 and since then I have struggled to figure out how to be a published author and how to get the book into your hands as readers.  Even as I work to publish the second book, I am often beset with a feeling that I’m not doing enough for that first book.

I thought the hard part was publishing the book, but it turns out putting yourself out there in libraries and bookstores is a lot harder.  I want people to see my book, not me.  Along the way I have connected with a community of other writers, editors and publishers.  From them I have gleaned a lot of helpful advice and support, a beam of light to push back the dark mysteries of the post-publication paths.  Part of that advice is blogging as a way of introducing myself to you all and lure you in to the world of my thoughts and imagination.  God help us all.

And so here I am, inviting you all to subscribe and follow me on my blogging journey.  I am hoping to share at least weekly and whenever the random thoughts strike.  I am notorious for my bunny trails, so put your coffee into a to-go cup and I hope to see you soon!
